Marcus West "Fibonacci Image with changing blue cells emerging from an orange background" (2015).
This exhibition of 20 prints by Marcus West in the Café Bar at Phoenix in Leicester features artwork created over more than 40 years. Starting with his early images made on computer-controlled pen plotters, we see artworks created in the Pascal language; algorithmic photoediting images; and finally work created with the Processing language. Throughout his long career, we see Marcus West regularly returning to themes, such as the Fibonacci sequence and mandala-like patterns.
As part of this exhibition, we will be hosting an in-person talk by Marcus West in May. Stay tuned for details. An exhibition catalogue will be launched at this event and made available in print and as a downloadable PDF.
